On February 23, 2026, boxes of winter clothes were donated to newly arrived Filipino trainees in Japan. Led by Digital Wallet Corporation’s (DWC) Smiles Mobile Remittance Philippines team, the CSR activity’s goal was to equip the trainees with necessary winter apparel for the cold winter in Hiroshima.
This idea started back when the Smiles team made a recent ground visit in Hiroshima and met a group of Filipino trainees who had just arrived in Japan. They had arrived in the middle of winter, bringing with them only a few clothes suitable for the cold. Some were experiencing snow for the first time.
Witnessing their struggle motivated DWC and its Smiles team to start a winter clothing donation drive.

Smiles Mobile Remittance runs the One Million Smiles Program each year to support impoverished communities through corporate social responsibility (CSR). The program provides food, school supplies, medicine and other basic needs to beneficiaries. It is part of the company’s mission to “Share Smiles.”
With that same spirit, the DWC team came together to collect winter clothes and send them to the newly arrived trainees. The team members donated their jackets, sweaters and other winter items they no longer used but were still in good condition.
With the help of Filipino community leaders and a non-profit organization in Hiroshima, two large boxes of winter clothes were delivered to the trainees. It was a simple gesture but one that carried warmth beyond the fabric.
Through programs like One Million Smiles and everyday efforts to “Share Smiles,” the Digital Wallet and its Smiles Mobile Remittance team are determined to continue standing beside their international communities.
