While brainstorming at the Tokyo headquarters, the team searched for a symbol that truly resonated with the hardworking migrant community. They found it in a small yet mighty bird—a traveler who, like our customers, crosses great distances with purpose and love. Simply named Tori (the Japanese word for bird), he stands as a reminder that no matter how far you fly, you’re never truly far from home.

This year, the Smiles team visited schools in Davao, Bicol, and Bulacan to meet students, their families, and teachers, to share smiles and hear their stories firsthand. Joining the distribution was Gabby Concepcion, Smiles’ Global Brand Ambassador, who helped hand out backpacks filled with school supplies for the students and food packages to support their families with daily challenges. Through these efforts, Smiles aimed to bring hope and show that someone cares, encouraging the students and their families to keep striving for a brighter future.
