Ontario, Canada – In North York, Digital Wallet Canada Ltd. and Smiles Mobile Remittance Canada – Philippines joined with the organizer, International Entertainment Company, at the Taste of Manila Street Festival on Aug. 20 and 21, 2022.
Taste of Manila returned after ten years of being vacant, about 2 years of it being the pandemic, and invited many people around the North York area to immerse themselves in the Filipino culture.
“People had been waiting for the Taste of Manila to happen,” said Manuel Arnaldo, President of Digital Wallet Canada. “We estimate over 150,000 people attended the Taste of Manila.”
Many attendees with their friends and families were able to enjoy the aroma and flavors of Filipino cooking, the colorful and intriguing merchandise of cultural items and the hype from the Filipino entertainment.
Smiles Mobile Remittance Canada – Philippines joined the Taste of Manila and supported the Filipino Canadian community. A booth was set up at the event to maintain relationships with current customers and to create new and deep ones with new customers.
“People got to know about Smiles Mobile Remittance,” said Mr. Arnaldo.
The Taste of Manila Street Festival started in 2014 with the mission of bringing to Canadians and Filipinos living in Canada the experience of Filipino culture, cuisine, entertainment, products, and services.
With solid success at the event, Smiles Mobile Remittance Canada – Philippines hopes to join next year’s event and strengthen relationships in the Filipino Canadian community.
