On March 30, 2025, Smiles Mobile Remittance Philippines joined a hanami-style Filipino community gathering at Ukima Park, Itabashi, Tokyo. Organized by MWO-OWWA Tokyo in celebration of Women’s Month, the event brought together Filipinos from the Kanto Region for a day of camaraderie and cultural pride.
Attended by the Philippine Ambassador, MWO-OWWA Tokyo officers, and leaders from various Filipino communities, the gathering embraced the spirit of hanami (cherry blossom viewing), blending Filipino traditions with Japan’s springtime culture.
With a picnic-style setup, attendees enjoyed traditional games, lively dancing, and shared Filipino dishes under the cherry blossoms—a beautiful reminder of both home and new beginnings in Japan.
